Exploring Health Tech

If you’ve been following this page, you may know a lot about my work in Clinical Herbalism. But what you may not know as much about is my my background in technology! I’m excited to bring the two together more often in a new blog series about health tech!

I’m a driven product manager that brings care and intention into everything I do. My current focuses are in health technology, specifically in the areas of healthcare interoperability, biowearables, patient/provider interactions, and provider workflows.

My work is rooted in how we experience, resource, and design for the material that has the most profound impact on our lives. I began this through spearheading solutions in the Education Technology space and now, after nearly three years of studying clinical herbalism, I’m leveraging my experience in software development to build wellness-centered digital tools, improve the tech-enabled systems that support healthcare, and improve the relationship between patients and providers.

Previously, I worked as a product manager and researcher at Microsoft, where I led initiatives that supported educators, students, and families; I helped to build tools like School Connection and Teams Assignments, and conducting foundational research for the EDU team's expansion into higher education. I also contributed to accessibility-focused design for low vision and blind users, learning how intentional technology can shift the way people navigate their daily lives.

Earlier experiences, such as serving as Undergraduate Council President at Brown University or launching public health projects as a student scientist, helped me build a foundation in collaborative leadership and community-rooted inquiry. These early commitments continue to inform my approach to product strategy and system design.

Today, whether I’m prototyping a health app, facilitating spaces to help improve health literacy in my community, or supporting clients with health concerns, I’m guided by the same question: what tools support us in returning to ourselves—and how can I help shape them?

Right now, I’m exploring that question through the lens of product development. As part of a personal learning project, I’m walking through the engineering development lifecycle the way a Product Manager would. I’ll start with defining the problem space, moving into concept hypothesis development, scoping features, building out prototypes, and testing ideas.

I'll be releasing each part in stages, and I’d love for you to follow along as it unfolds!

💡 Caveat here: this isn’t a full-scale product build. it’s a structured project I'm doing to sharpen my PM skills and deepen my thinking. That means I’m working within time constraints (balanacing this with my pursuit of a new role within health tech :D), and while I’m putting thought, research, strategy into each step, I may not catch everything.

I really welcome your thoughts, suggestions, or reflections as you read! If something resonates, or if you see something I might have missed, please let me know in the comments or DM me! I’d love to hear from you and keep improving this work through meaningful conversation!
